A Foodie’s Guide to Chandigarh: Where to Eat, Drink and Explore

As a food blogger working with Tripsero, I recently had the pleasure of exploring the food scene in Chandigarh. This beautiful city is known for its well-planned architecture and greenery, but it’s also a foodie’s paradise. Here are my top picks for where to eat, drink, and explore in Chandigarh.

First things first, let’s talk about breakfast. If you’re looking for a hearty start to your day, head to the iconic Gopal Sweets in Sector 35. This place is famous for its chole bhature, a spicy chickpea curry served with deep-fried bread. It’s the perfect fuel for a day of exploring.

Next up, let’s talk about lunch. If you’re in the mood for some Punjabi cuisine, head to Pal Dhaba in Sector 28. This place has been serving up delicious food for over 50 years and is a favourite among locals. Their butter chicken and tandoori chicken are must-tries.

For dinner, I recommend trying out the global cuisine at Virgin Courtyard in Sector 7. This cosy restaurant has an outdoor seating area and serves up delicious Italian and Mediterranean dishes. Their wood-fired pizzas are a personal favourite.

Now, let’s talk about drinks. If you’re in the mood for some cocktails, head to The Great Bear in Sector 26. This microbrewery has a great selection of craft beers and their cocktails are equally impressive.

Finally, let’s talk about exploring. Chandigarh is home to some beautiful gardens and parks, but if you’re looking for something off the beaten path, head to the Rock Garden. This unique sculpture garden was created by artist Nek Chand using recycled materials. It’s a fascinating place to explore and take some great photos.

Overall, Chandigarh has something for every foodie. From traditional Punjabi cuisine to global flavours, this city has it all. So pack your bags, grab your appetite, and get ready to explore the food scene in Chandigarh.
